Fleetwood Mac, Rumours

Rumours is an album released in 1977 by British-American rock band Fleetwood Mac. It is their 11th studio album and the one with a stronger pop focus than previous albums made by the group. The album was recorded in the Recording Plant studio in Sausalito, CA. The main songwriters were Lindsey Buckingham, Christine McVie, and Stevie Nicks.  

Back to black, Amy Winehouse 

Back to Black is the second and final studio album by English singer-songwriter Amy Winehouse, released on October 27, 2006 by Island Records. The album is based on Amy Winehouse's ex boyfriend Blake Fielder-Civil, who temporarily left her to pursue his previous ex-girlfriend. The album is influenced by the pop and soul music of 1960s girl groups, and includes collaborations with producers Salaam Remi and Mark Ronson, along with Sharon Jones' band The Dap-Kings, 

Ultraviolence, Lana del rey

Ultraviolence is the third studio album by American singer-songwriter Lana del rey, released on June 13, 2014, by Polydor and Interscope Records. The album has Jazz\Rock influences from the 70s while maintaining a sub-theme of self destruction. Lana Del Rey was originally said to be working with the same three writers and producers as she did on her first album, Born to Die (Emile Haynie, Justin Parker and Rick Nowels), She also stated that she was working with Dan Heath, her then-boyfriend Barrie-James O'Neill. Lana Del Rey originally recorded the album with Rick Nowels over three weeks in Electric Lady Studios in New York and by the end of the session, the album was complete. However, shortly after Dan Auerbach and Del Rey met in a club and decided to work together. Two weeks later,  Lana del rey rerecorded the entire album with Auerbach using a Shure SM-58 microphone and a live band.

Week 1: 02/03/26 I started this week by looking at different ideas on what to do my project on. By the end of the week I had decided to create a research based project. In my project I will be researching different drummers and styles along with including my own examples of using these techniques. I also created a timetable on what to follow each week for the project. Week 1 Evaluation: I am happy with how my progress is going this week, I managed to pick my choice for the project quite early on in the week which gave me some time to complete my timetable that I will be following for the project. I also managed to find what styles and drummers I will be researching which will be helpful when creating my presentation. Unfortunately I haven't yet began my research posts or any sort of blogpost. Targets for next week: My targets for next week will be to discuss my choice for the project with my lecturers too see if it's up to standard, I will also check to see if my timetable need...

6/8 The first track I began working on was the 6/8 time signature track. I firstly came up with two simple chords which were Dm7 and Fmaj7 which I found sounded well together after I started playing some random chords on the guitar to come up with something. I then created a simple strumming pattern that was played in 6/8. Once I had the input set properly and the gain on the guitar, I then used a tap tempo app on my phone to figure out what the tempo of the song was, which was 31bpm. I did struggle playing the chords for a long time as they were barre chords, so I simply recorded the first 2 bars of the song using a thick and clean amplifier on logic which I picked out, I also added an echo pedal and a retro chorus pedal which I thought sounded very well put together and it was the sound I was looking which was bright. After recording 8 bars on the guitar, I repeated this process until I had 12 bars put together. I then moved onto using a bass track which I used from logic and changed...

 What am I doing for my final major project? I have decided to do a research blog for my final major project.   In these blogs I will be researching different drummers and styles, I will also be including some tracks of me experimenting with these styles. I will make a total of 7 posts which are traditional drumming, jazz drumming, funk drumming, time signatures, African drumming, drum machines and a recording journal for my own tracks. Why have I decided to do this? As a drummer myself, I have very little knowledge on different historical contexts and styles of drumming. Therefore, I decided doing multiple different research posts would be very beneficial for me and would hopefully help my development as a drummer.
