DCP · REX EP For my final project, I thought my mixing and my detail on the journal went well. I do feel that I am happy with the outcome as I expected to struggle a lot with this unit but I managed to keep up with the plan which I was happy about, although I thought my research lacked a bit as I mainly focused on the other aspects of the work and I feel like I should've made some more time to focus on my research, I also feel my detail on the journal was good but could've been better and I should've linked things stuff to my project proposal in the journal. I believe I managed to get most of everything I had planned to do in my project proposal, I managed to do research on mixing by watching youtube videos and websites and research drum beats from different songs to help me with my own tracks, I also managed to document everything in my journal and stick to my plan. Take off any plugins and anything that isn't part of the sound. Mix the volume on the vocal's first then mix the snare and kick around it, then drums, and lastly guitars and other instruments. Use wide panning to make the song sound balanced. Before reading this website, i wasn't completely sure what an EQ did and this website explained it in a simple way which was: EQ'ing cuts away and boosts frequencies to make sure the track is heard clearly in the mix.
