(Music clips) - Duration 1 minute
In order of picking my theme, i used a website called Buzzsprout which had a ton of ideas for music podcasts.
Plan:
To do: | By: |
Research and script | 11th of Feb |
Topic 1 | 5th of Feb |
Topic 2 | 5th of Feb |
Outro and evaluation | 6th of Feb |
Clips | 6th of Feb |
Ident | 3rd/4th of Feb |
Intro | 3rd of Feb |
Sources of Information:
For the intro, i included bars and styles for each song that inspired me. I used a website called Musescore.com to see each song's drum sheet music. Although, for Message in a bottle by the police i used the grade 4 Rock school drums book.
Clips
Week 1: A video of me playing specific bars in Message in a Bottle that inspired/impacted me.
I will be playing the fills in bars: 4, 24, 25, 64, 82. I will also be playing the ghost notes/ rimshots in bars 70, 71, 114, 116 and 119.
Week 2: A video of me playing specific bars in Little lies that inspired/impacted me. I will be playing the fills in bars: 8, 24, 32, 33.
Week 3: A video of me playing specific bars in Go you're own way that inspired/impacted me. I will be playing the beat that goes on throughout the song, as well as bar 14.
Evaluation
I found the recording process of the podcast fairly easy, i found that it was easier for me to record i slots for example, one recording being the intro, then another being section one. It was fairly simple putting them together as well so all together i found the recording process of my podcast the easiest.
The second easiest task for me with this unit was creating the ident, all i had on my mind during the process of making it was creating an ident that involved a beat or a fill that i was inspired by from Stewart Copeland or Mick Fleetwood. This mindset made it fairly simple for me to create an ident, the only challenging bit was the guitar throughout it. To make thing easier i started with the drums and then searched for a guitar riff that went with the drums.
In my opinion, i found writing the script the most challenging in the process. Due to the fact i had to relate my own experiences to my two drummers. The research process was pretty simple as there are loads of resources i used including Quora and Wikipedia. Although next time i would like to be more on to of things regarding the work timeline, next time i'd like to do things a lot quicker rather that it taking so long to do.
Next time as well i'd like to have added some background music to end my podcast to make things more exciting rather than just have an ident at the start.
The reason i chose the topic of "Drummers that impacted my playing" was due to the fact i already had a lot of knowledge on Stewart Copeland and Mick Fleetwood's drumming. The song message in a bottle had also really inspire me when i had first started playing drums, so from this i knew it
would've been a topic i am extremely passionate about.
